Findland Fairway Due Law

November 28, 2014

Based on the Finland Ministry of Transport and Communication’s maritime strategy, the Finnish parliament has announced a final and lawful decision on the new fairway due law as follows:

- The new fairway due law is temporary, being effective 2015-2017

- New unit cost is 0.911 x NRT / call (Previously 1,045 x NRT / call)

- Max fairway due is 22,250 € / call (Previously 44,500 € / call)

- Tonnage due will be eliminated (Previously 0.1 x NRT, paid only on first call of the year)

Financial impact on cruise lines, especially on those who have several calls during a season, is considerable.
