Festive Season Subsea Contracts for DeepOcean

December 25, 2012

Within days of eachother Deep Ocean secures subsea offshore contracts in Australia, and in the North Sea.

North Sea Contract:
DeepOcean UK, Ltd., a subsidiary of DeepOcean Group Holding BV, contracted by Statoil AS for the installation and trenching of a Permanent Reservoir Monitoring (PRM) System on the Snorre oil field in the North Sea, Norwegian Sector. The project represents DeepOcean UK’s largest ever contract award.

The multi-year project commences in 2013 and consists of the installation and trenching of circa 500km of subsea seismic cables and associated riser in water depths in excess of 300m. Once installed, the large seismic monitoring array will assist Statoil in increasing oil recovery from the Snorre reservoir throughout the field’s life.

Tony Inglis, DeepOcean UK Managing Director, said “We are delighted to be performing this work for Statoil and assisting them with their first major Permanent Reservoir Monitoring system.”

Australian Contract
The company contracted to provide subsea trenching by Subsea 7 on the Chevron-operated Gorgon Project in Australia.

DeepOcean will be responsible for the project management, engineering and associated trenching works of approximately 70 kilometres of main umbilical for the Gorgon and Jansz-Io field developments.  For this work scope, DeepOcean will utilise the T1 trenching spread to be mobilised on to a Subsea 7 provided vessel.  Offshore works are scheduled to commence early 2013.

Tony Stokes, Director of Asia Pacific for DeepOcean, states, “We look forward to a successful trenching campaign and are very pleased to cooperate with Subsea 7 on such a momentous project.  The award for the Gorgon Project demonstrates the demand for DeepOcean’s trenching technology building on our extensive track record with Subsea 7 globally and further complements our most recent trenching projects in Australia.”
