Farrell Lines 2 Additional U.S. Flag Vessels

March 9, 2010

Farrell Lines announced the addition of two U.S. flag roll-on, roll-off vessels into its fleet, the Alliance Beaumont and Alliance Charleston. These ships complement the Alliance St. Louis and Alliance Norfolk, which have been U.S. flag vessels since February 2008. The Farrell Lines fleet now consists of four roll-on, roll-off vessels.

The Alliance Beaumont was brought under the U.S. flag on February 21 in Dubai, and this vessel will participate in the Maritime Security Program (MSP). The Alliance Charleston was reflagged on February 12 in New York. Both vessels have 710,000 sq ft of total stowage capacity, representing 7,900 car equivalent units and over 250,000 sq ft of deck space for military cargo.

Built between 2004 and 2008, all four Farrell Lines vessels offer superior reliability and boast heavyweight stern ramps and versatile deck configurations. The size and make-up of the ships allow for carriage of a variety of vehicles, helicopters and various oversized equipment. Along with ocean carriage, Farrell Lines offers inland transportation and logistics services for rolling stock and oversized cargo.
