EMC Enhances Leadership Team

EMC  has appointed several established executives to its global leadership team to further enhance its delivery of mission-critical communications and content to top organizations around the world.

EMC has appointed Tom Severson as chief financial officer (CFO).  Previously, Severson served as CFO for Paxson Communications, Inc.; American Media, Inc.; The Nicklaus Companies and Myxer, Inc.  In addition, he was Chief Accounting Officer of Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. and started his career as a CPA in the audit department of KPMG.  He brings more than 20 years’ experience in business operations in relation to executing complex transactions, including $3.2 billion in acquisitions, $5.4 billion in raising public capital, a $145 million corporate sale and raising $25 million in early stage venture capital.
 
John Finney recently joined EMC as chief commercial officer (CCO).  Finney brings experience in leading and transitioning companies to make them world-class within their industries.  He was a founding employee and CCO at O3b Networks with a broad range of responsibilities.  He also served as regional managing director of Ciena, running the company’s Northern Europe and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States) operations.  Before Ciena, he was a global business unit leader at Alcatel-Lucent.  At Huawei, he was the first European employee responsible for the company’s entry and growth strategies.  Finney is a satellite and telecommunications industry trailblazer, sought after speaker, and Global Telecoms Business cited him as a Top 40 Global Telecoms Executive three years consecutively.
 
Bill Madden also has joined EMC as senior vice president (SVP), product development.  Bringing more than 25 years of software engineering experience, Madden previously served as executive vice president of engineering for Myxer, Inc., where his team created and supported a leading destination for mobile content and entertainment.  He also was an early employee of Citrix Systems, Inc., and held positions at IBM and Vericept Corporation.
