Crowley Scholarships Aid Four UW Students

 

Joshua Banks, a two-time Crowley scholarship recipient is currently studying finance and entrepreneurship at UW.  He is an active member of Montlake Consulting Group, an entirely student-run consultancy, where he serves as an engagement manager. He is also a mentor for Young Executives of Color, a brother of Sigma Phi Epsilon and a Foster School ambassador. After graduation, Joshua will be joining Microsoft as a finance rotation analyst. 

 

Kainen Bell, is the first student at UW in over 10 years to pursue double degrees in the School of Business (information systems) and School of Social Work. Some of his leadership experiences at UW include being a Foster School ambassador, an Office of Minority Affairs student ambassador, member of the student government board of directors and mentor for the Foster School Young Executives of Color. Bell has studied abroad in Brazil twice and is currently in Germany studying at the University of Mannheim Business School. After graduation, he plans to pursue graduate school along with a career in corporate social responsibility or global community development. 

 

Maninder Grewal, originally from Renton, Wash., is studying human resource management and finance. Grewal is involved with the Dream Project organization, mentors high school students and is an active member of the Society of Human Resource Management. She interned with Boeing’s human resources department in 2015 and will join the company full-time following graduation.

 

Xuan Liao from Port Townsend, Wash., is studying accounting and finance. She is a facilitator at the Foundation for International Understanding through Students organization and an officer of the UW Cuisine Club. She enjoys traveling and has been to 15 different countries. Following graduation, Liao will pursue a career in public accounting.
