The GAC Corporate Academy (GCA) has joined the group of organizations to achieve ISO 29990 certification in recognition of the learning opportunities it offers.

Only about 30 learning organizations hold ISO 29990 certification, which sets the international learning service standard for non-formal education and training. The GCA is one of the first to receive recognition in the Middle East and African region.

Certification acknowledges that GCA courses offered to GAC Group employees around the world meet international standards, complying with quality standards for learning service providers, benefiting both participants and GAC’s management and clients.

The certificate was presented to GCA General Manager Damien O’Donoghue by Alireza Ramin Majd, DNV Country Manager for the Middle East, Northeast & South Africa and West Asia.

Majd says: “Training is an increasingly important investment for companies large and small. That’s why it’s important for training services providers like the GAC Corporate Academy to develop processes and performance standards to measure and meet the challenges they face. ISO 29990 provides a model for quality professional practice and performance, and a common reference for the design, development and delivery of non-formal education, training and development.

“At DNV GL Business Assurance, Middle East, we are honoured to share a small part of the GAC Corporate Academy’s achievement of becoming the first learning body in the region to be added to the world register of ISO 29990 certificate website.”

Since its establishment in 2007, the GCA has emerged as a leader in corporate learning. ISO 29990 certification acknowledges its rapid development and the high standards applied to its learning processes. As a global organization with a strong performance focus, it is important that the same standards are applied to its internal training systems, ensuring that all staff members are equipped to serve GAC clients to the highest standards.

“The journey from our start-up just seven years ago to where we are today has been incredible. In that time we have seen both the learning culture of GAC as a multinational organisation grow exponentially, and the Corporate Academy mature in its course development and delivery,” says O’Donoghue.

“ISO 29990 certification sets where we are today as a benchmark of quality standards from which we shall continually innovate and improve over the coming years to continue to fulfill our commitment to delivering the learning strategies of our customers.”
