June 7, 2013

CIC Lixin Shipyard and CIC ChangXing Shipyard contracted to repair two vessels, one Japanese & one  Korean-owned.

MV Oriental Vaga came to CIC Lixin Shipyard for repair to damage that required the replacement, due to damage, of large sections of the underwater hull plating, all within the owner's requested  8-day time limit for the work. Only by working shifts 24/7 in the floating dry-dock was it possible to complete in time. A comendatory letter from the shipowners stated: “We’re sincerely grateful for the great efforts made by your good shipyard for the repair of MV Oriental Vaga and this is a quite joyful cooperation. Without your full cooperation and utmost support, the captioned vessel was unable to sailing [sic] ahead of schedule. We would like to have more cooperation with your good shipyard in the future.”

At about the same time CIC ChangXing Shipyard was also commended for its  repair of MV Hyundai Supreme for a normal stock repair: hull painting, rudder blade gouging , grinding, welding and cargo hold sandblasting.

Four Hyundai vessels have been to the yard for repairs and according to the shipyard the owner is satisfied with repairs, and for this reason sends vessels back to the yard for repeat business.
