Keppel Group has clinched 18 awards at this year's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Awards, organized by the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) and Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore. Van Oord Enacts Hopper Dredger Option

Van Oord has decided to use the option of ordering a third trailing suction hopper dredger at Keppel FELS Limited. The vessel is similar to the two vessels that Van Oord ordered in May 2018. Each one has a hopper capacity of approximately 10,500 cubic meters and measures 138 meters in length and 28 meters across the beam.This investment is part of a broader fleet renewal program in the Dredging business unit. The new hoppers will replace existing vessels and fit in with Van Oord’s aim of making its fleet state-of-the-art and more energy efficient.

FAT Testing Complete for M/V George III Main Engines

Pasha Hawaii reports that factory acceptance testing (FAT) of the dual-fueled, MAN Diesel & Turbo ME-GI main engine has been completed for the M/V George III, the first of two 774-ft., U.S. Jones Act, LNG-fueled containerships being built at Keppel AmFELS in Brownsville, TX. Golar LNG Closes FLNG Hilli Episeyo Financing

Owner and operator of LNG carriers Golar LNG has secured $ 200 million in additional liquidity as part of a debt financing deal related to the Hilli Episeyo. Golar LNG announced that following the June 4th announcement of commercial acceptance of Hilli Episeyo, the Company has repaid the $640 million drawn under the $700 million construction financing facility and drawn down on the post acceptance $960 million lease financing facility provided by CSSC Leasing. After the closing therefore an additional $320 million of liquidity has been received by Golar.

Keppel to Build South East Asia’s First LNG Bunkering Vessel

Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Keppel Singmarine Pte Ltd, has secured a contract from FueLNG, a joint venture between Keppel O&M and Shell Eastern Petroleum (Pte) Ltd, to build South East Asia's first Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunkering vessel valued at approximately S$50 million. Scheduled for completion in 3Q 2020, the dual-fuel LNG bunkering vessel will have a capacity of 7,500 cubic metres. FueLNG will receive a grant of up to S$3 million as part of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore's (MPA) LNG Bunkering Pilot Programme (LBPP).

Keppel Explores Sale of Jack-up Rigs to Borr Drilling

Singapore yard Keppel Corporation is considering a sale of jack-up rigs to Norwegian offshore drilling contractor Borr Drilling, reports The Business Times. The world’s biggest builder of oil rigs is seeking to offload six jack-up rigs for up to US$960 million to the Oslo-listed drilling firm headed by Tor Olav Trøim, said the report. BT also reported that Keppel Capital has already hooked up with structured finance provider Clifford Capital to potentially extend a sale-and-lease-back arrangement for at least one jack-up contracted by Grupo R.

Keppel O&M to Pay US$422m to Resolve Petrobras Issue

Keppel Corporation Limited (Keppel Corporation or Keppel) today confirmed that KOM has reached a global resolution with criminal authorities in the United States, Brazil and Singapore in relation to corrupt payments made by KOM's former agent in Brazil,  Zwi Skornicki. As part of the global resolution, KOM has accepted a conditional warning from the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) in Singapore, and entered into a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) with the U.S.

MPA Pumps $8.9 Mln More into Singapore's LNG Bunkering

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) has injected another S$12 million (US$8.9 million) to boost liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering in the Port of Singapore. FueLNG Completes First Commercial LNG Bunkering in Singapore

FueLNG, a joint venture between Keppel and Shell Eastern Petroleum (Pte) Ltd (Shell), has achieved the first commercial Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) bunker transfer in Singapore by completing truck-to-ship bunkering for the Floating Liquefaction (FLNG) vessel, Hilli Episeyo. The LNG bunker transfer, which was carried out in batches from 22 July to 23 September 2017, was conducted in accordance with the Singapore Chemical Industry Council (SCIC) Technical Reference for LNG Bunkering (TR 56), which provides a safe, efficient and sustainable technical framework for LNG bunkering operations.

BW Catcher Sails to North Sea

BW Offshore, a leading global provider of floating production services to the oil and gas industry, announced the sail away of the FPSO BW Catcher. The vessel has left Keppel Shipyard in Singapore and is currently in transit to the Catcher field in the central North Sea. BW Catcher is expected to reach UK waters early in the fourth quarter, depending on prevailing weather conditions. Upon its arrival, BW Catcher will commence a seven-year fixed term contract, with extension options of up to 18 years, with Premier Oil.

Keppel AmFELS to Build Two LNG Fueled Containerships

Keppel AmFELS, a wholly owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M) in the United States (US), has secured a contract worth more than US$400m from Honolulu-based Pasha Hawaii for the construction of two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fueled containerships. The dual fuel LNG vessels will be built to Keppel's proprietary design with delivery of the first vessel expected in 1Q 2020, and the second vessel in 3Q 2020. Golar LNG Partners in FLNG Hilli Episeyo Stake Acquisition

Golar LNG Partners announced that it has entered into a purchase and sale for the acquisition from Golar LNG Limited and affiliates of Keppel Shipyard and Black and Veatch of equity interests in Golar Hilli LLC, which will, on the closing date of the Acquisition, indirectly own the FLNG, Hilli Episeyo. The Acquired Interests represent the equivalent of  50% of the two liquefaction trains, out of a total of four, that have been contracted to Perenco Cameroon SA and Societe Nationale Des Hydrocarbures for an eight-year term.

Keppel, Sembcorp Merger on the Cards ?

A merger between two of the Singapore’s largest offshore rig builders, Keppel Offshore & Marine and Sembcorp Marine, might be on the cards, report local media quoting the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS). DBS said that with orders at a trough and expectations for only a modest recovery, a merger of Singapore's two major rigbuilders could create a global giant that is more competitive and resilient. “A merger could make sense to further streamline their operations, achieve cost synergies and eliminate competition in the medium term,” DBS said.

Keppel to Deliver World's First Converted FLNGV

Keppel Offshore & Marine's (Keppel O&M) wholly-owned subsidiary, Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard), will soon deliver the world's first converted Floating Liquefaction Vessel (FLNGV) owned by Golar Hilli Corporation (Golar), a subsidiary of Golar LNG Ltd. The vessel was named Hilli Episeyo at a ceremony in Keppel Shipyard today. Upon its completion, the FLNGV will be put in operation offshore Kribi, Cameroon for Société Nationale des Hydrocarbures and Perenco Cameroon SA, and will be the first FLNGV project in Africa.

Pasha Hawaii Taps Keppel Fels to Build LNG-Fueled Boxships

Delivery of First Vessel Planned for Early 2020. Honolulu-based Pasha Hawaii today announced that the company has selected Keppel AmFELS in Brownsville, TX, a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (Keppel O&M) for the construction of two new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) fueled containerships, with the option to order two additional vessels. BW Offshore to get FPSO from Keppe

Keppel Shipyard Ltd (Keppel Shipyard), is on track to deliver a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) vessel to BW Catcher Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BW Offshore. When completed BW Catcher will be on a 7-year fixed term and 18 years of options contract with Premier Oil and will be deployed to the Catcher Field located in Central North Sea, UK. Keppel Shipyard's work scope on the FPSO include the installation and integration of topside modules. BW Catcher is scheduled for sailaway from the shipyard in the next few months and is on track to achieve its first oil in 2017.

Two New SEA\LNG Partners

SEA\LNG, which works to accelerate the widespread adoption of liquefied natural gas (LNG) as a marine fuel, has welcomed two new partners, each representing key aspects of the LNG maritime value chain: ABS and Keppel Offshore & Marine’s Gas Technology Development. The recent decision by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPS) to enforce the global 0.5 percent cap on the sulphur content of marine fuel by 2020 has significantly increased interest in LNG as a cost effective, safe and more environmentally friendly fuel.

Keppel, Shell Form JV for Singapore LNG Bunkering

Keppel Corp Ltd has entered into an agreement with Royal Dutch Shell to form a joint venture company, which will establish a liquefied natural gas (LNG) bunkering business in Singapore, says a report in Reuters. The two companies will have a 50 percent stake each in the joint venture. Its principal business activity will be to supply LNG bunkering operations services in Singapore to ships and any other marine vessels in the Singapore port and other related services, Keppel said in a statement. The joint venture is the latest in Shell’s push to establish as LNG as a viable marine fuel.
