SCI Bags 3rd Best Enterprise Award

The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd., has won the third prize for the ‘Best Enterprise Award’ in the 26th Regional Meet organized by the Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), Western Region.

The forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS) and its network have been functioning since 1989 under the Aegis of SCOPE to promote growth and development of women in PSUs.

Central PSUs, nationalized banks and insurance companies are corporate life members of WIPS, and about 10,000 women employees of PSUs from across the country are individual members. The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) is one of the corporate life members.

The Forum of Women in Public Sector (Western Region) held its 26th Annual Regional Meet on October 3, 2015 at Ravindra Bhavan,Vasant Vihar Colony, Seepat Road, Bilaspur, Chattisgardh on the theme “Need for advance skill development for succeeding in personal as well as professional level”.

The Best Activity Report award has been instituted by the forum for the last six years, for giving recognition to best PSUs /PS banks, who have done commendable work for development of women in their companies. The criteria for evaluation for the Best Activity Report involved WIPS activities performed in organization, WIPS membership drive, database submission, CSR and social activities conducted, support services in their respective organization, participation in the training programs, support to WIPS from the organization, training and development activities conducted by the organization for women employees.

The Shipping Corporation of India Ltd, won the third prize for the Best Enterprise Award in the Western Region. The award was presented by the Chief Guest Prof. Anjila Gupta, Vice Chancellor GGV, Bilaspur. 

Around 250 delegates from various PSUs across the Western Region participated in this regional meet.
