Aquatic Names Smart as North America Business Development Manager

Aquatic Engineering & Construction Ltd, an Acteon company, is delighted to announce the appointment of Bill Smart as business development manager, North America.



Prior to joining Aquatic, Smart served as the Vice President of Sales and Service for Prime Source Packaging, LTD. He has significant industry experience and has held engineering and project management positions with Oceaneering Intervention Engineering, Oil States, Unigraphics Solutions and Global Compression Services.



Chris Brooks, President of Aquatic, said, “North America is of prime importance to Aquatic’s business strategy. It is also vital that we employ and utilise local knowledge and experience whenever possible. Bill brings an impressive knowledge of project development and management. His location at InterMoor’s headquarters will deliver new scope for partnering, whereby our complementary capabilities will bring optimum benefit for our clients.”



Smart holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certified and has completed Dale Carnegie sales training.



Aquatic is globally renowned for laying and retrieving flexible and semi-rigid products on the seabed and has proven ability in shallow and deep water, and extensive experience of off- and onshore installations, transpooling, recovery and decommissioning. From its custom-built workshop and yard facility, clients are offered a complete storage, inspection and management service for spare pipeline and umbilical products and reels. Aquatic’s own extensive range of equipment includes powered-reel drive systems, tensioners and storage reels. This kit is modular in design, which makes it highly flexible and able to be dismantled and easily transported by road or sea in standard containers to anywhere in the world; for clients this means faster, more cost-effective mobilisation and demobilisation, essential components of success for any commercial project.
