DA-Desk, an independent provider of port cost management services, today announced the promotion of Anna Zhurbenko to Agency Relationship Manager, replacing the retiring head of the department, Bert Hoogenboom. Zhurbenko, who has been with DA-Desk since 2011, was formerly Assistant Operations Manager.

In her new capacity, Zhurbenko will focus foremost on developing new services designed to provide value to agents and owners/operators alike. As such, she will build on the recently introduced TRACEcertification program, which enables port agents and suppliers registered with DA-Desk to receive preferential pricing for TRACEcertification. She will continue to concentrate on compliance and will work on an ongoing basis to enhance the agent/DA-Desk working experience.

With nearly a decade of experience in the shipping industry, prior to DA-Desk, Zhurbenko served as Operations Manager at Wilhelmsen Maritime Services. While there, she worked collaboratively to ensure safe and efficient practices within the industry. She began her career as Deputy Director of International Affairs at Projection Institute GIPROGRAD.

Zhurbenko earned a Master’s degree, foreign philology faculty, at State University named after V.A. Soukhomlinskiy. At Odessa National Maritime University she was on the Faculty of Transport Technologies and Systems Sea Transport Operations & Management. This year she will earn her MBA in Shipping and Logistics from Middlesex University (Lloyd’s maritime academy).

In addition to her responsibilities with the Agency Relations Management department, Zhurbenko will sit on the DA-Desk Compliance Committee, the independent internal body that establishes compliance policy for DA-Desk.
