The insolvency administrator expects Volkwerft Stralsund Yard to resume work soon on the two DFDS RoRo newbuildings.

The DFDS order had been previously cancelled when P+S Werften went into administration.

Dr. Berthold Brinkmann, the administrator, stated:

"The signed order for two RoRo special vessels for the Danish shipping company DFDS is now in our hands and is subject to various conditions. As we believe that these conditions will be fulfilled, the insolvency administrator of P+S Werften has instructed the operating company Stralsunder Schiffbaugesellschaft to implement a preparation team in order to ensure an organized start of production at the Volkswerft Stralsund on Monday, 14th January. 300 staff will commence the actual production a week later, on 21st January.”

Founded June 08, 2010, P+S WERFTEN GmbH is a young company merger of two old companies, Peene-Werft GMBH and Volkswerft Stralsund GMBH.
