USMRC Hires Director of Grants and Fundraising

The United States Maritime Resource Center (USMRC) has announced the appointment of Tiffany A. Torrey as its new Director of Grants and Fundraising. Torrey comes to USMRC with an extensive background in fundraising, grant writing, strategic planning, and maritime operations.
 

In her new roll, Torrey will lead all research and management of grant opportunities for USMRC as part of its overall fundraising strategy. She will leverage her past experience in the shipping industry to liaise with relevant maritime industry stakeholders in the development of partnerships for federal grant funding centered around port and cyber security. Torrey also will be responsible for developing USMRC’s messaging to other potential public and private grantors.
 
In addition to having worked as a consultant and grant writer, Torrey worked in the maritime industry as a port captain, vessel planner, and superintendent. She earned her BS in marine transportation from the United States Merchant Marine Academy and spent 10 years in the Navy Reserve.
