Transocean Names Tonnel SVP & Controller

David A. Tonnel has been named Senior Vice President, Finance and Controller, and Principal Accounting Officer, effective March 1, 2012.

 

Mr. Tonnel currently serves as the Senior Vice President of the Europe and Africa Unit. Prior to assuming this role in June 2009, Mr. Tonnel served as Vice President of Global Supply Chain since November 2008. Previously, Mr. Tonnel served in management and financial positions including Vice President of Integration and Process Improvement since 2007, Vice President and Controller since 2005 and Assistant Controller the prior two years. Mr. Tonnel served as Finance Manager, Asia and Australia Region, from 2000 to 2003 and as Controller, Nigeria, from 1999 to 2000. Prior to joining the company in 1996, Mr. Tonnel worked in France as a Senior Auditor for Ernst & Young.

 

Mr. Tonnel graduated in 1991 from ecole des Hautes Etudes Commerciales (H.E.C.) in Paris, France, with a Master of Science degree in Management.
