SCI Takes Crude Container Delivery

State-run Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has accepted delivery of a crude container named “Desh Vishal” from Daewoo Shipbuilding Marine Engineering Co. The company had placed orders for two very large crude containers (VLCCs) in October 2005 with the South Korean company. “Desh Vishal” has a gross tonnage of 162,412 tons and is the largest vessel in the Indian Register, according to the company.
