The SOS 2013 program will take on the issues that are challenging access to ocean areas and resources by responsible industry operators. Click here to see the program.

This global gathering of the diverse ocean business community is not a conference to discuss the issues, enjoy some networking and hope someone else will do something. The SOS is a working meeting to advance industry leadership and collaboration on shared ocean sustainability risks and opportunities through WOC programs.

The SOS 2013 program includes opportunities for ocean business leaders to understand and shape the future of ocean industries, through:

■ The pre-SOS “Oceans 2050” workshop – where business representatives will identify the drivers, trends, and scenarios affecting future ocean use and map out critical pathways for responsible industry success during the half-century ahead
■ An opening “Ocean Executive Forum” – a plenary panel of industry CEOs and VPs from a range of sectors
■ A keynote address by Admiral White, Oceanographer of the U.S. Navy
■ The “Global Ocean Commission – Industry Forum” – the only business-led input directly to the former Presidents and Cabinet members chairing this new international ocean policy body

The cross-cutting challenges affecting future ocean use will be the focus of sessions on:

■ Smart Ocean/Smart Industries: Scaling Up Data Collecting by Industry
■ Arctic Challenges and Opportunities for Responsible Industries
■ Ocean Policy and Ocean Industries in International Waters
■ Marine Spatial Planning
■ Sound and the Marine Environment
■ BioFouling and Invasive Species
■ Port Waste Reception
■ Marine Ecosystem Services
■ Sea Level Rise: Port and Coastal Infrastructure Adaptation
■ Financing Innovation and Technology for Ocean Sustainability

The Sustainable Ocean Summit is the multi-sectoral ocean industry gathering to develop leadership and collaboration on the sustainability risks and opportunities affecting the future of business in the marine environment.

Representatives of the international Ocean Business Community are invited to register here.

A few Sponsorship and Exhibit opportunities remain available. Visit the SOS 2013 sponsorships page for more information.
