SUNY Maritime to Host Towing Industry Forum

The State University of New York Maritime College's Department of Professional Education and Training will host its 15th annual Towing Industry Forum Wednesday, October 15, 2014.

The event’s itinerary is as follows:

  • 0830–0900 Sign-in and continental breakfast
  • 0900–0910 Welcome – Rear Adm. Michael Alfultis, USMS, Ph.D., Maritime College
  • 0910–0940 “The Legal Consequences of 46 CFR Subchapter M” – Dan Fitzgerald, Freehill Hogan & Mahar LLP
  • 0940–1000 “What About Squat” – Professor C. Munsch, Maritime College
  • 1000–1020 Break
  • 1020–1100 “Hiring and Retaining Safe Mariners in the Towing Industry” – Grace Lee, PHD, APTMetrics
  • 1100-1200 “STCW and the Towing Industry” – Luke Harden and James Cavo, USCG Headquarters
  • 1215 Ribbon Cutting – Bouchard Simulation Center; lunch reception


The attendance fee is $50 per guest. Registration is required.
