Nor-Shipping Launches 'Venture Initiative'

November 14, 2012

The intitiative is aimed to provide new opportunities for finance professionals and capital hungry maritime companies from around the world.

To highlight more of the maritime value chain at its leading maritime event week, Nor-Shipping will enable copmanies to pair up, network and showcase themselves. The initiative includes “Venture Park” and “Venture Forum”.

Venture Park
Venture Park will provide 12 start-up companies with a platform for testing the market and meeting potential partners and investors, with an affordable Nor-Shipping exhibitor fee. This exclusive international showcase of new ventures will be centrally located in the new Innovation and Venture Hall at the Nor-Shipping exhibition site. Nor-Shipping announces a call for such innovative ventures.

Venture Forum

Venture Forum aims to create a high-level arena for listed maritime companies and new ventures to match up with private and institutional investors. It will feature keynote talks by leading voices in the investment and innovation communities and a series of exclusive presentations of investment opportunities to investors, run in three parallel “ocean industry” streams – shipping/maritime, offshore energy and seafood.

The presentations will be limited to 15 companies per “stream”. Each will be given eight-minute slots to make “speed pitches”, followed by Q&A sessions with expert panels. The event will be rounded off with a social gathering for all participants. All participating companies will be given pitch training prior to the event.

Nor-Shipping invites listed maritime companies, new ventures and private and institutional investors to participate.
