A finance lawyer with a focus in the transportation industry, Brian P. Devine, joins the New York office of Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P as partner.

“Brian’s experience in shipping will increase the capabilities of our maritime practice,” said Thomas W. Hughes, the Chair of Fulbright’s Business Group. “Our transportation group has respected aviation lawyers, and Brian has a reputation as a global authority in maritime law.”

Devine advises clients nationally and internationally in finance and security arrangements; insolvency matters; mergers, acquisitions and divestitures; debt and equity offerings; sale and purchase; commercial transactions and disputes; and corporate governance and structure.

“Brian’s arrival will greatly benefit our transportation clients,” said Kenneth L. Stewart, the Chair of Fulbright’s Executive Committee. “He is known for his dedication to clients, and we look forward to his providing ours with exceptional service.”

Prior to joining Blank Rome LLP, Devine was a partner at Healy & Baillie, LLP, which combined with Blank Rome in 2006.

Chambers Global ranks Devine as a leading lawyer in shipping. Devine’s interest in Fulbright was sparked by the firm’s global reach and client service.

“I am pleased to join a firm with a strong international presence and excited about the pending combination with Norton Rose,” Devine said. “I often counsel clients on international matters and working here will allow me to better serve them.”
