Sandvik to Head digital solutions at Wilhelmsen

January 1, 2017

The Wilhelmsen group hires Inge André Sandvik as head of digital solutions, starting January 2017.

“Accelerating our digital transformation, Inge brings with him a unique combination of digital entrepreneurship, business curiosity and a large network within the digital eco-system,” says Thomas Wilhelmsen, group CEO.

“We really look forward to lifting our digital competence with Inge’s innovative thinking and to ensure we focus our energy on transformation that will make our customers and us more efficient. Sandvik is well versed in the Norwegian start-up scene, and has built digital resources long before “digital transformation” was even a buzzword.”

“I am not sure I can claim maritime expertise, just because I am from Vesterålen, a coastal area in the northern part of Norway, but I am intrigued by Wilhelmsen’s vision – shaping the maritime industry,” says Inge André Sandvik about jumping from a digital journey within the music business to the maritime industry.

“Having more than 155 years of industry expertise, Wilhelmsen has shown an ability to adapt to changing environments. However, digital technologies will change the maritime industry and create an ocean of opportunities for customers, partners and Wilhelmsen as an organisation. Enabling Wilhelmsen to be an early mover – even a first mover – within the shipping and maritime sector is not only a great and exciting challenge, but also my mission,” says Sandvik.

Sandvik is currently CEO of Tagiato and chief product officer of Filmgrail. He has a bachelor of management from BI Norwegian Business School.
