Saia Opens Second Seattle-area Terminal

May 1, 2018

Saia LTL Freight has opened a terminal in the city of Fife, Wash, in close proximity to the Port of Tacoma.

“With the growth we have seen in the Seattle-Tacoma area, this second terminal will position us to provide additional capacity and enhanced service to our customers,” said Saia Executive Vice President of Operations Corey Thompson. “Aside from opening several terminals in the Northeast this year, which is a new market for us, we are also investing in states, like Washington, where we’ve had facilities. The economy in the Pacific Northwest has been growing exponentially so we are excited about this new location.”

Saia’s other Seattle-area terminal is located in Kent, Wash. It employs over 100 drivers, dockworkers, sales and office personnel.

The facility in Fife will bring the total number of terminals the company operates in the state to four and will be the ninth new terminal Saia has opened since last year. It is projected to employ over 50 workers.
