Russia's seaborne oil product exports rose 16.4% month-on-month in August to 4.57 million metric tons, as some domestic refineries completed unplanned maintenance, according to industry sources and Reuters calculations.
Fuel exports, mainly naphtha and fuel oil, from Russian ports dropped 50% in August, however, compared to the same month a year ago due to relentless Ukrainian drone attacks on key refineries and port infrastructure this year and a diesel export ban.
In August 2026, oil product exports from Russia's Baltic ports — Primorsk, Vysotsk, St. Petersburg and Ust-Luga — rose 32.7% month-on-month to 2.62 million tons, the sources said.
Fuel shipments for export via Black Sea and Azov Sea ports dropped 25.3% last month from July to 0.93 million tons, the data showed.
Oil product exports from the Arctic ports of Murmansk and Arkhangelsk increased in August to 130,400 tons from 44,000 tons in the previous month.
Fuel export loadings at Russia's Far East ports rose by 34% month-on-month to 0.89 million tons, the data showed.
