Russian Hydroelectric Rebuilding Begins

Rosneft Head, Executive Secretary of Russian Presidential Commission on Strategic Development of the Fuel and Energy Sector and Ecological Safety Igor Sechin participated in the ceremony of reconstruction of Sayano Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Station.

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the command via video linkup to launch the last of the ten turbines at the Sayano-Shushenskaya Hydroelectric Station that was damaged in an accident in 2009. The ceremony marked the completion of repair work and the station’s renewed operation at design capacity.

Following the instruction of the Russian President, Igor Sechin presented government awards to the plant employees, constructors, designers, engineers, transport operators, equipment suppliers, network suppliers, operators and UES system operator, participating in reconstruction.
