Registration Open for SHIPPINGInsight Fleet Optimization Conference

June 27, 2013

The producers of the SHIPPINGInsight Fleet Optimization Conference have announced that online registration is now open.

Following a successful inaugural conference in 2012, the 2013 event will take place October 22-24 at the Sheraton Stamford Hotel in Stamford, Conn. It will bring together senior executives from shipowners, ship managers, classification societies, regulatory bodies, consultancies and suppliers to address the pressing issues facing fleet operators in the current business climate.

The confirmed keynote speakers for the conference are Anthony Chiarello, president and CEO of Tote, Inc., and Yasushi Nakamura, executive vice president of Class NK. Executives from major shipping companies will serve as speakers or panel moderators, including APL, Bernhard Schulte, Crowley/Jensen Maritime, Gemini Tankers, Hammonia Reederie, Heidmar, Interlake Steamship, Maersk Lines Ltd, M.T. Maritime Management, Nordic Tankers, NYK Line, OSG, Royal Caribbean, TBS/Roymar and V Ships.

The conference program will include sessions on meeting regulatory challenges, designing for efficiency, fuel and propulsion management to include LNG as fuel alternative, system monitoring and maintenance, voyage and ship performance optimization and – new for 2013 – an open forum of shipowners on managing organizational change.

“Fleets face tough challenges, characterized by overtonnage, disastrous freight rates, rising fuel costs and new regulatory compliance requirements,” said Jim Rhodes, co-producer of SHIPPINGInsight events. “Under these conditions, it is imperative that fleet operators explore new strategies for increasing ship efficiency and reducing operational costs. In many cases their very survival will depend on it.”

“The Fleet Optimization Conference provides a unique opportunity for maritime professionals to learn from experts, see the latest developments in technology and network with peers from all facets of the shipping industry,” said Frank Soccoli, co-producer.
