Reducing Costs of Shipbuilding: NSRP Issue Research Notice

The National Shipbuilding Research Program (NSRP) plans to issue a research announcement in August, 2013 & in the meantime issues this pre-solicitation notice in order to facilitate teaming arrangements.

In making this announcement NSRP aims to solicit summary proposals that respond to priorities in the program’'s Strategic Investment Plan, including areas of particular interest that will be identified in the Research Announcement.

The NSRP ASE program goal is to reduce the cost of building and maintaining U.S. Navy ships. To accomplish this, NSRP ASE is focused on industry‐wide implementation of solutions to common cost drivers and consensus priority issues that exhibit a compelling business case to improve the efficiency of the U.S. shipbuilding and ship repair Industry.

Teaming:
Teaming arrangements are encouraged, and a principal purpose of the pre-solicitation period is to afford potential proposers the opportunity to reach out and form teams. The NSRP website includes a Teaming Page to facilitate such teaming opportunities.

Proposers' Conference Details:
–The conference will be held July 9, 2013 | 1:00-4:00 PM Eastern | SCRA & Webinar -- The purpose of the Proposers Conference is to provide information on the NSRP proposal submission and selection process, focusing on key information specific to this particular Research Announcement, as well as networking opportunities.
