O&G commissioning and technology specialist qedi - part of AMEC, the international engineering and project management company - has appointed two new directors and expanded its Aberdeen headquarters to further harness the company’s increasing global growth including its rapid emergence in North America and Australasia.
Barry Cann joins qedi as general director to head up the company’s Europe business division while David Hickey takes up the role of operations director and will oversee qedi’s international portfolio of high-profile projects. Both will be based in Aberdeen.
Tony Davies, who was previously operations director and played a key role in developing the company’s pioneering GO Technology® hub of specialist completions and commissioning management software, has been appointed as technical director. He will be responsible for both boosting the company’s internal engineering and quality assurance, and leading the next generation of Go Technology upgrades.
As well as strengthening its senior management team, qedi has created more than 200 positions over the last 12 months - 20 percent of which are in Aberdeen - including project coordinator Shona McKenzie, who will be working alongside David Hickey. New roles also include an E-learning specialist, a commissioning resourcer and a quality assurance auditor. The company has also secured additional office space at its Aberdeen headquarters - Salveson Tower, Blaikies Quay - after moving into a second floor of office facilities to accommodate the sharp growth in its team.
