PMSC Approved to Supply Armed Guards on French Ships

 

Maritime security firm Aspida informs that as of June 12, 2015 it has become the first private maritime security company (PMSC) to be permanently certified and licensed to supply armed guard protection to French flagged vessels. Aspida is also the first non-French PMSC to get a nontemporary accreditation by CNAPS. 

 

Aspida’s operations are carried out by more than 200 qualified and regularly vetted security personnel. The first professional qualification cards have already been received allowing Aspida to offer its specialized services to French shipowners and clients. All Aspida operators are experienced ex Special Forces members with military background and several NATO operations. Aspida, and in accordance with ISO standards, requires that all operators are under continuous training that involves certifications from internationally accredited training centers. 

 

Holding four ISO accreditations: ISO 28007 (Maritime Security), ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001:2004 (Environmental) and OHSAS 18001:2007 (Health & Safety), Aspida is a founding member of the International Code of Conduct Association for Private Security Companies (ICOCA) and one of the first companies to be accepted in the Security Association for the Maritime Industry (SAMI), certified as a Stage 1 Member. Aspida is also approved by BIMCO as an Associate PMSC Member.
