Pilbara Ports Volume Up 2%

Pilbara Ports Authority has delivered a total monthly throughput of 53.6 million tonnes (Mt) for the month of May.

This is an increase of 2% from the same month in 2015.

The Port of Port Hedland achieved a monthly throughput of 39.8Mt, an increase of 3% from the previous year.

Iron ore exports for the month totalled 39.3Mt an increase of 4% from the same month in 2015.

Imports totalled 132,000 tonnes, a decrease of 29,000 tonnes or 18% from the previous year.

The Port of Dampier delivered a total monthly throughput of 13.8Mt, an increase of 1% from the same month in 2015.

Imports totalled 156,000 tonnes, an increase of 94,000 tonnes or 152% from the previous year.
