A new exhibition, Nordic Maritime Expo 2020, is set to take place in Turku, Finland, January 22-23, 2020.

Billed as a presentation of the latest digital and clean tech ideas, Finland touts itself as the heart of global digitalization and green technical developments.

NaviGate2020, the Nordic Maritime Expo will take place on January 22nd and 23rd 2020 in the Finnish city of Turku. It is the place to be to understand how Finnish and other leading shipping companies have begun embracing change and utilizing the benefits of digitalization.

Approximately 200 companies from Finland and overseas are expected to attend, from shipbuilders and designers, ports and ship operators all working towards the next generation, a sustainable, clean and digitally enhanced future.

Finland, described by Forbes as the most digital country in 2018, has embraced the ideals of a clean efficient shipping and supply chain, and the program of activities during NAVIGATE 2020 more than reflect this.

NAVIGATE main conference will also host the finals of one of the Nordic regions next generation searches, the 6th Intelligence Hunt. This unique event matches students with the brightest ideas with maritime businesses that can see the value of those ideas succeeding. Intelligence Hunt, organized through the Finnish SeaFocus platform, is a unique opportunity to get the views of the next generation, and helping companies get access to the next generation ideas that they may otherwise miss.

SeaFocus has been organizing the Intelligence Hunt since 2017, each takes about four months with teams of international students working with professional industry mentors and businesses in the shipping sector. This 6th final follows other searches in Finland, Sweden and Norway, with the entries being judges by a jury of industry experts.

Judges for 6th Hunt final include the runner up in the 5th Hunt along with Harilaos Psaraftis, Professor, Technical University of Denmark, Sari Turkkila General Manager Shipbrokers, Finland and Poul Woodall, Director, Environment & Sustainability, DFDS A/S, Denmark (DK). Jury chair is Ulla Keino, Commercial Director, from Ahlers Trade Facilitation Business Unit.

Event moderators include Frank Ko, Senior Advisor, Kho Management in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Dr Rolf Neise Supply Chain Management, Senior Consultant, HPMlog, Project & Management Consultants in Hamburg and Johanna Fräki, Renewable Energy Innovations Director, Wärtsilä
