National Defense College Visits Abu Dhabi Ports

Abu Dhabi Ports, the master developer, operator and manager of Abu Dhabi's commercial and community ports as well as Khalifa Industrial Zone, KIZAD, received a delegation from the National Defense College in KIZAD’s HQ in Taweelah to observe, first-hand the ports’ safety procedures, prevention plans and crisis management and preparedness.  

 
The delegation was headed by Brigadier Staff Eng. Hamad Juma Al Neyadi, Deputy Commander of National Defense College, and received by the CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, Captain Mohammed Juma Al Shamisi, as well as a number of senior management in Abu Dhabi Ports. 
 
The visit commenced with a tour in KIZAD’s Visitor Centre and highlighted the latest developments and current plans on site. The delegation learned more about crisis management at Abu Dhabi Ports as well as emergencies and crises response plans and systems. 
 
The delegation toured a number of facilities in both KIZAD and Khalifa Port, including the Khalifa Port Container Terminal, one of the world's fastest growing container ports. They also visited the emergency response facility, the control room and crisis centre. 
 
Captain Mohammed Juma Al Shamisi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports, said, “This visit comes in the framework of strengthening our relationship with the National Defense College, which has succeeded in developing its students’ knowledge in national strategy and security as well as the principles, tools and concepts of leadership and planning at the strategic level. The visit focused on crisis management, a subject that, we as Abu Dhabi Ports, are very serious about due to our industrial and marine assets and sharing our experience in this field.”
 
During the visit, Abu Dhabi Ports and the delegation discussed ways of cooperation and exchanging knowledge and planned future visits to achieve those goals. The visit highlights Abu Dhabi Ports’ efforts to promote collaboration and cooperation with various educational entities in the UAE.
