Marine Training Institute Offers Leadership and Managerial Skills Course

January 26, 2016

The Marine Training Institute (TMTI), a division of Beier Radio, LLC, offers a five-day U.S. Coast Guard-approved “Leadership and Managerial Skills” course at its Gray, La., campus.

The Leadership and Managerial Skills course covers leadership skills and teamwork management taken from “real life” personal experiences of mariners who have been in leadership roles and from case studies collected from investigations of maritime incidents. Instructors have served in leadership positions and have successfully applied their own skills to manage ships and maritime companies. Additionally, the course provides group discussion and role play on communication, interpersonal conduct, and cultural awareness to develop interaction techniques that will help the mariner become a successful, safe, and effective leader.

TMTI’s course list also includes a one-day radar re-certification course, ECDIS certification and type-specific ECDIS training, and basic and advanced DP operator training. TMTI is the only full-time ECDIS certification facility in Louisiana and is accredited by The Nautical Institute in London for its standard of excellence in DP operator training.
Registration is now open for Leadership and Managerial Skills and all other courses in 2016. Class schedule, available dates, and more details about registration can be found at www.themarinetraininginstitute.com
