Maher Terminals Honored by Evergreen Line

June 6, 2013

Maher Terminals, LLC, one of the largest multi-user container terminal operators in North America, has been recognized by Evergreen Shipping Agency (America) Corporation (EGA) as '2012 Marine Terminal of the Year'.

EGA serves as North America agent for Evergreen Line, the fourth largest containership company in the world.

Evergreen noted that the carrier places great emphasis on providing quality service with a goal to satisfy customers by meeting and exceeding their expectations and keeping them competitive in global trade. "This philosophy is one of the keys to our success and we depend on our vendors to play a significant role in helping us achieve this goal," said Roy Amalfitano, EGA President.

"Maher Terminals and its staff provide excellent service to our shared customers," added Mr. Amalfitano. "Your consistent high level of performance has earned this annual recognition."

Gary Cross, Maher President and Chief Executive Officer, said: "To be so acknowledged by such a highly respected containership operator and one of our biggest and long-term terminal users is a reflection on our people who work every day to keep our customers competitive and efficient. We are pleased and proud of this honor and of those who made it a reality."

Citing Maher for "excellence in quality, service and support," Evergreen thankedthe terminal operator and its people and encouraged all "to provide the quality of service we are recognizing now and going forward." Evergreen Line containerships have been calling at New York Harbor since the commencement of its all-water cellular service in 1975 and at Maher's facility since 1978. The carrier has three weekly services at Maher.

Maher Terminals operates the largest marine container terminal, a 450-acre facility, in the Port of New York and New Jersey, as well as the Fairview Terminal in Prince Rupert and upon completion of its development, the Maher/Melford Terminal in Nova Scotia.
