MacGregor, SeaFocus Join Forces

February 27, 2018

MacGregor, part of Cargotec, and an international maritime business platform, SeaFocus, have announced a collaboration agreement that will support the companies in creating new cooperation models to benefit maritime trade and drive industry innovation.

"We are known for our innovative products and services," says Henri Paukku, Director, Cooperation and Funding, MacGregor. "We can see here the potential in the industry and an important partner for creating new ways of thinking and sharing best practises and to collaborate with universities and their students. This is why we are now participating in Intelligence Hunt®, a cooperation concept developed by SeaFocus, which brings companies and cross-faculty international university students together."

MacGregor is committed to optimising the lifetime profitability, efficiency, safety, reliability and environmental sustainability of its customers' operations and understands that this is best achieved in close cooperation with customers and other stakeholders. However, the maritime and shipping industry is known for its traditional approach, even though it is a platform for very advanced solutions and technologies.

"Communication and cooperation strategies that bring companies together will enhance the industry and its technologies, and will speed up its development," adds Mr Paukku. "Sharing best practices and innovative industry-specific solutions will benefit the marketplace as a whole and ensure its future sustainability."

In 2016, to establish its role in the transformation of the maritime industry, MacGregor started its 'So much potential. Let's not waste it' discussion and since then has strived to enhance collaborations.

"I am very proud of MacGregor's trust in us to form a two-year strategic partnership with the SeaFocus executive maritime business platform," says Ulla Keino CEO, SeaFocus. "I sincerely believe that our joint efforts will result directly or indirectly to our stakeholders' increased profitability and productivity in the years to come."
