February 25, 2016

Suntex Marinas, an owner and operator of marina properties, announced today the promotion of Martin Lucas to the role of Director of Customer Service and Memberships. In this new position, Lucas will spearhead the development and execution of customer interaction and retention initiatives.

Lucas will be required to use his excellent communication skills and attitude to build rapport with prospective and existing members, as well as to direct the efforts of staff to create an
enjoyable experience for both guests and employees. He will also be responsible for marina marketing plans, organization of programs and events, and production of collateral materials.

“The director of customer service and memberships is the first impression – the face of Suntex Marinas,” said Ron TenEyck, vice president of operations for Suntex Marinas. “This vital role requires someone who embodies the warm and welcoming atmosphere Suntex strives for in each and every guest experience. Martin has been in the industry a long time, in roles ranging from marina management to mega yacht captain, and has always focused on
putting the guest first. We can not think of anyone better suited to lead our customer service efforts."

Spanning a variety of management positions over his twenty years of industry experience, Lucas most recently served as general manager of York River Yacht Haven, in Gloucester Point, Virginia. His previous experience includes resort and marina consulting and director of marine operations for IDEA Orlando, an international design and planning firm that designs branded destinations for the cruise, hospitality, entertainment, and tourism industries. Lucas also held the position of Director of Customer Service and Quality Assurance for Island Global Yachting. From 1996 to 2005 Lucas developed hands-on experience as a yacht captain for some of the largest and most luxurious sailing yachts in the world.

“The yachting industry is one in which enjoyment is paramount,” said Lucas. “Although, it does take a lot of work to create the kind of quality experience Suntex Marinas offers our guests, to call it work belies the fact that it can be so gratifying. I’m looking forward to the challenges and rewards that lie ahead in this new position and believe that I can make a difference in the future of the company.”
