Leslie Joins MEOPAR as Executive Director

Marine Environmental Observation Prediction and Response (MEOPAR) Network has named Stefan Leslie as its new Executive Director. He will officially begin his role with on April 18, 2016.
 
Leslie has been heavily involved in marine policy and resource management throughout his career.
 
His tenure at the New Zealand Ministry of Fisheries includes positions as Socio-Economics Manager and later as the Deepwater Fisheries Manager. Leslie returned to Fisheries and Oceans Canada in 2008 as the Director of Resource Management (Maritimes Region) before moving into his most recent position as Regional Director of Fisheries Management (Maritimes Region).
 
Leslie takes over the MEOPAR Executive Director position from Dr. Ron Pelot, MEOPAR Associate Scientific Director who served as the Acting Executive Director during the groups search process following the loss of former Executive Director, Neil Gall.
