Keppel Group has clinched a record 34 safety awards at this year's Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Awards.
It is the highest number by a single organization since the awards were introduced in 2006 by the Workplace Safety and Health Council (WSHC) and Ministry of Manpower (MOM), Singapore.
The Group bettered its previous showing of garnering 26 awards last year. The 34 awards were spread out across its three businesses, which is a first for the Group.
Its offshore and marine division was bestowed 25 safety awards for achieving zero incidents on its newbuild and conversion projects. Two of its supervisors were also singled out for their exemplary safety leadership.
Keppel Land, the Group's property division, also scored a first for the company, receiving its inaugural WSH Developers Award. This award recognises developers who play an active role in ensuring good workplace safety and health practices among their contractors.
In addition, the Group's infrastructure division, Keppel Sea Scan, was awarded the WSH Innovation Award for an innovative employee-driven project to improve the safety and efficiency in handrail welding.
The other five awards were won in the WSH risk management and WSH performance (silver) categories by various business units in the Keppel Group.
The WSH Awards is an annual award presented by WSHC and supported by MOM, to recognise organisations that have performed well in safety and health through the implementation of sound safety and health management systems.

Keppel also embarked on a comprehensive three-year exercise to review its safety journey last year. Comprising site assessments and safety roadmaps for individual business units, the programme is benchmarked against the Singapore operations of DuPont, a global leader in world-class safety consulting, which was engaged to assist the Group with a thorough assessment of its safety systems and culture.
