The subsea vessel Island Performer has been upgraded for her next assignment in the US. Ulstein Verft has installed cargo tanks and corresponding piping, a switchboard room for deck equipment and the sea fastening frame for stacks, as well as platforms for the tower winches. The tower has been upgraded, and cables are installed for future deck equipment. The vessel is now ready to load equipment for her US assignment, and will be leaving Norway shortly.
Island Performer is an SX121 subsea vessel design, specialized for RLWI/IMR work. The ship has been designed and built by Ulstein, and was delivered from UIstein Verft in 2014.

M/V “ISLAND PERFORMER” is an RLWI/IMR Vessel, designed and built by ULSTEIN. The hull form, with the ULSTEIN X-BOW®, combined with diesel electric propulsion system, ensures good performances with regard to fuel consumption, sea keeping, station keeping, speed, and deck cargo capacities.
The main propulsion system comprises three azimuth thrusters with fixed pitch and nozzle, each driven by frequency controlled variable speed electric motor. One retractable/swing-up azimuth thruster and two side thrusters forward are installed, ensuring the vessel to obtain the best station keeping capabilities.
The vessel is equipped, built and certified according to IMO Class III for Dynamic Positioning. In addition, the OPERATION+ philosophy is incorporated for the vessel to ensure even higher redundancy during operation. The vessel is equipped with a 250 t AHC subsea crane located starboard side and a Module Handling/Intervention Tower located above moon pool.
