His subsequent career in the industry has mainly been in the commercial shipping sector but also with involvement in naval systems and offshore oil and gas sectors. Most recently he has been marketing director and business development manager of Fugro Satellite Positioning based in Oslo.

Commenting on the appointment, AWT Chairman Jung Soo Kang said, "With the increasing focus of ship operators on energy-efficient vessel operations, there is a need to look at how AWT's ship routing services, fleet management system and BVS onboard product are best utilized on ships and by shore-based operations teams. Haydn's knowledge of the international maritime industry and in particular navigation, communications and ship efficiency systems will help us in achieving that strategic goal."
