French Union Calls for June 28 Port Action

June 26, 2018

France's CGT union says it is calling on port workers across the country to down tools on June 28 and join a protest against the policies of the government.

Thursday's action coincides with the end of three months of rolling train strikes against the planned overhaul of public rail operator SNCF. Stoppages by port workers can slow the handling of commodities such as oil and grain at French shipping terminals.
