A' Award & Competitions awards Surfsail42 by Hakan Gürsu its Bronze A' Design Award at Yacht & Marine Vessels Design Competition.

Hakan Gürsu, the lead designer of the awarded design Surfsail42 explains “SurfSail42 is the first foldable space-saving sailing vessel that allows both sailing and surfing. It is designed for both single and dual usage for training, entertainment and professional purposes.

The folding sailboat has a length of 4.20 m (13.8 ft) and in Surf Mode its wider surf board can be used solo or duo for training. A single beginning user can practice more easily due to the boat's good stability, or In dual usage to practice with a trainer and thus learn more quickly.

The boat can also be equipped with different sized sails with different insert positions.

Folding and collapsing the board in the design's unique way makes transportation and storage much easier.

A' Design award entrants are judged by a panel of three different juries composed of Academic, Professional and Focus Group Members.
