The second annual Lift & Move USA will be held February 10 in Houston, enabling participants to network with working industry professionals, hear from young people working in the industry and explore career possibilities in the crane, rigging and specialized transport industry.

The 2016 conference follows on the first Lift & Move USA event held June 16-17, 2015 in Chicago, which attracted more than 140 attendees.

Sponsored by a host of industry stakeholders, the daylong event aims to promote the various job opportunities in the crane, rigging and specialized transport industries, and is open to students (17-24), teachers, parents, former military personnel, SC&RA members and more (students, parents, high school teachers and military veterans receive free registration).

The initiative is designed to educate those interested in the professions of crane operator, rigger, electrical engineer, field engineer, truck driver, mechanic, welder, lift planner, IT specialist, computer-aided design engineer, sales representative, branch manager or project manager, noted one of the event’s sponsors, Lifting Gear Hire (LGH).

All participants will even have a chance to operate a real crane and truck simulator, learn about the oversize/overweight transportation and be educated on the proper use of hydraulic gantries and rigging equipment, LGH added.
