For the second consecutive year, GAC Dubai has been named the FMCG Supply Chain of the Year in the Logistics Middle East Awards. The 2018 award, like last year’s, acknowledges the company’s service to the Middle East’s busy Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.

The win recognizes GAC Dubai’s procedures, training and technology deployed in ensuring a seamless, safe and efficient cold chain and consistent commitment to providing supply chain management services to the sector.

The accolade was received by Neil McMaster, General Manager of Contract Logistics, who said, “Fast-moving industries like food and beverages demand speed, accuracy and quick response. GAC Dubai has, once again, proven its abilities to meet all these and more. This award is a recognition of the teamwork, commitment and innovative spirit that have long been the hallmark of GAC.”

Fredrik Nyström, GAC Group Vice President for the Middle East, added, “To be awarded this prestigious accolade once more is a true reflection of our consistent efforts and drive to maintain our industry-leading position in the region. We will continue to deliver quality and value-added services to help our customers deliver their strategic goals.”

GAC has been a pioneer in FMCG supply chain management in the Middle East for a quarter of a century. It opened the Middle East’s first Distribution Center in Dubai in 1993 and today, the 103,000sqm GAC Logistics Park in the Jebel Ali Free Zone remains one of the largest and most advanced in the region. The flagship Distribution Center has over 50,000sqm of warehousing space dedicated to food & beverage and other FMCG cargo and 1,800sqm of purpose-built food grade and general Value-Added Services (VAS) facilities.

GAC Dubai’s newest contract logistics facility, at Dubai South, is now operational and brings the company’s total capacity in the Emirate to more than 170,000 pallet positions serving local and regional customers.
