Aker Solutions contracted by Dong Energy to provide well intervention services for the oil company's assets offshore Norway and Denmark.

Well intervention services are carried out in an oil or gas well, with the objective of maximising production and increasing the recovery rate of oil and gas.

Under the contract Aker Solutions will deliver electrical wireline logging services and wireline tractor services at the oil and gas fields where Dong Energy operates on the Danish and Norwegian continental shelves.

The contract is valid for two years plus an optional two-year extension. Aker Solutions estimates that the contract will generate revenues of approximately NOK 40 million annually and they will manage the work from its well intervention service facilities in Esbjerg, Denmark, and Stavanger, Norway.

"Dong Energy is an exciting company to support as its portfolio of operated platforms offshore Norway and Denmark is rapidly growing. The Trym and Oselvar fields offshore Norway came on-stream earlier this year, and the Hejre and Solsort developments on the Danish continental shelf is in the pipeline. We are happy that Dong has renewed the trust in our services and look forward to continue supporting them in increasing production and recovery rates from their offshore wells," says Rolf Leknes, who heads up the Scandinavian well intervention services operation for Aker Solutions.
