Diana Shipping Acquires Bulk Carrier

Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE:DSX), a global shipping company specializing in the ownership and operation of dry bulk vessels, today announced that it has agreed to purchase from an unaffiliated third party the MV "Vathy", a 2010 built Panamax dry bulk carrier of 81,297 dwt, for a price of $32.25m. The vessel, to be renamed "Leto", is expected to be delivered to the Company by the sellers during the first quarter of 2012.
