Danos has announced that Scott Theriot has been named 2016 Staff Employee of the Year. The award is presented each year to a staff member who best embodies the company’s core purpose and values.

Theriot first joined Danos in 2003, working part-time as a roustabout and fitter in the company’s fabrication shop in Larose while going to school. After graduating from Nicholls State University in 2008, he was hired full-time as a personnel coordinator. He later worked as a Vessels of Opportunity (VOO) manager before moving into materials management, ultimately rising to Danos’ senior account manager for Shell. Under Theriot’s leadership, the account (including a terminal facility with more than 20 employees in Harvey, La.) has sustained an incident-free safety record, for a total of 13 years without a recordable incident. Thanks to this success, he was recently promoted to operations manager for materials management for Danos, a position in which he oversees the daily operations for all of Danos’ materials management groups.

A native and current resident of Larose, Theriot is known for this constant pursuit of self-improvement and his commitment to staying ahead of the curve when it comes to the industry. Anticipating the growing importance of materials management in the industry, Theriot decided to work toward an MBA in Supply Chain Management, which he is scheduled to receive from the Florida Institute of Technology on April 30, 2017.

He is a hands-on manager who works closely with his fellow employees to ensure that everyone is operating according to the culture of safety Danos has established. He sets expectations clearly and holds his team accountable for delivering the highest levels of customer service possible.

Each year, Danos employees nominate individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to Danos’ high performance culture, served as role models for others and embodied the company’s core values. A committee composed of past winners reviews the nominations and selects the winners.
