Danaos Takes Delivery of 42nd Containership

Danaos Corporation (NYSE: DAC) announced that on March 12, 2010, it took delivery of a newly built containership, the CMA CGM Musset, expanding its operational fleet, following the sale of the 30 year-old Eagle Express, to a total of 42 containerships aggregating 177,229 TEU.

The CMA CGM Musset has a carrying capacity of 6,500 TEU, built at Sungdong Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and was delivered on schedule. It is 984 ft long, 131 ft wide and has a speed of 25.60 knots (about 47 Km/h). The CMA CGM Musset has already commenced its 12-year time charter at fixed rates immediately upon delivery.
