CEVA Opens Distribution Center in Italy

March 25, 2015

CEVA Logistics, one of the world's leading supply chain companies, has today announced the opening of a local distribution center for Magneti Marelli After Market Parts and Services, a division dedicated to the independent spare parts network and after sales market, consisting of 1,600 sq m in Padua Interporto, Italy.

The new center features 5,000 shelf locations and is entirely managed by RFID which is supported by CEVA's technology suite CEVA Matrix®. The infrastructure and strategically located site of Padua Interporto, means CEVA is able to serve the customer rapidly and ensure on time delivery for Magneti Marellis's final users  in the Triveneto, Bolzano and Trento areas. Orders are delivered twice a day: with a cut-off of 18.00 (local time) for morning orders and 13.00 next day for those received in the afternoon.

The local distribution center is situated at Padua Interporto, an excellent intermodal logistics center that provides infrastructure and services for logistics and transport. Padua Interporto spans over 1 million sq m.

"Magneti Marelli needed a further improvement of delivery speed in Triveneto, a strategic area for our sales. The strong partnership with CEVA has allowed us to transform, in a very short time, a local distribution center into a logistics center with excellent infrastructure. Thanks to this solution, we can now guarantee deliveries in a shortened time frame, increasing the satisfaction among our final users," said Marco Manzi, Chief Financial Officer of Magneti Marelli After Market Parts and Services.

Cristiano Rigano, Operational Area Manager of CEVA in Italy, added: "For several years, CEVA has been the logistics partner of Magneti Marelli After Market Parts and Services for the management of their global spare parts in the CEVA operated warehouse in San Pietro Mosezzo (Novara). We have an active role in the continuous improvement and high service provision for final users. This new center continues in that pattern of continuous improvement; ensuring speed and reliable delivery time and full visibility of orders."
