Call for Papers: CAMM/IFSMA - Protecting and Informing Ship Masters in the 21st Century

Papers are being sought for CAMM/IFSMA: Protecting and Informing Ship Masters in the 21st Century, with suggested subtopic presentations under that banner to include the following possibilities: 
  • Today’s Master Mariner - Interacting with IFSMA and CAMM to get the help and info they need to be successful/safe/secure.
  • Today’s Master Mariner - and the environmental challenges/requirements in the 21st Century.
  • Today’s Master Mariner - and the New Electronic Age: ECDIS, ARPA, communications, E-paperwork.
  • Cyber threats to navigation, safety and cargo operations (theft, smuggling, pirate attacks, GPS vulnerability).
  • Working with the IMO - What’s in it for the Master Mariner?
  • Where is the next generation of Master Mariners? Training, mentoring, fostering junior mates for advancement
  • Protecting/Defending/Promoting our Cabotage Laws (The Jones Act, Cargo Preference, etc.)
 
Submission will be accepted via email ([email protected]) until December 31, 2016, and selections will be made by February 1, 2017.
