Prior to this position, she acted as the project director for the Community Schools Rhode Island Initiative at United Way of Rhode Island, ensuring the provision of quality afterschool programs to middle school youth in core urban communities. Cahill also worked at the National 4-H Council in Chevy Chase, MD, and at Resources for the Future in Washington, DC. She has been involved with youth development for more than 15 years through coaching, non-profit work and as an educator aboard the sailing ships Lettie G. Howard and Clearwater.
