Huntington Ingalls Industries (NYSE:HII) announced that Chad N. Boudreaux has been named to the newly created position of chief compliance officer.
Chad will report to Bruce N. Hawthorne, corporate vice president, general counsel and secretary, and to the Audit Committee of the HII Board of Directors.

Hawthorne added, "Naming a proven professional with Chad's experience and leadership skills to the chief compliance officer position further demonstrates HII's commitment to compliance and to the highest standards of ethical conduct at every level of our organization--from each individual craftsman to HII's Board of Directors."
Boudreaux joined HII in 2011 as corporate vice president for litigation, investigations and compliance. He will continue to serve as corporate vice president for litigation while also assuming his new role as chief compliance officer. In his new role, Chad will provide centralized oversight, leadership and coordination of HII's compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and its policies and procedures designed to prevent misconduct. The chief compliance officer's
responsibilities will include promoting the importance of compliance at HII, regularly assessing and improving compliance efforts, and anticipating future compliance needs.
Before joining HII, Boudreaux worked for Baker Botts LLP, where he established the law firm's Global Security and Corporate Risk Counseling practice group. He has also held various high-ranking positions in the U.S. government. From 2005-06, he was the deputy chief of staff of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security under U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Michael Chertoff. From 2001-05, he held multiple leadership positions at the U.S. Department of Justice under U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft. Boudreaux started his legal career in 1998 at a litigation firm in Austin, Texas.
Boudreaux earned a bachelor of arts degree from Baylor University and a juris doctor degree from the University of Memphis School of Law. He is a recipient of the Justice Department's Special Commendation for Outstanding Service for his work on the department's Terrorism Litigation Task Force. He also is vice chair of the American Bar Association's Homeland Security Law Institute.
